Odde & Holmen is something as rare as a Hardanger fiddle and viola duo, merging traditional folk music with impulses from art music, improvised music and the folk symphonic style of the Norwegian composer Eivind Groven. The duo represents playfulness and virtuosity, and creates a listening world with attention to nuances within timbre and tone, with strong melodies and melancholy.

Their latest album Føreferd is a mix of newly composed tunes and improvised music – where the rawness of the Hardanger fiddle meets the long phrases from art music, creating a unique expression.
